Juraperle PH Neutraliser Media 25kg

Juraperle is a high-quality fine granular water treatment filter medium made from more than 99% calcium carbonate (CaCO₃). It is designed primarily for increasing the pH of acidic water and can also assist with the removal of limited amounts of iron.
When acidic water comes into contact with Juraperle, free carbon dioxide (CO₂) is neutralised through the dissolution of calcium carbonate. This process increases the pH of the water while also increasing its hardness. Juraperle simultaneously acts as a filtration medium. 
As Juraperle works by gradually dissolving into the water, the filter media is consumed during operation and must be periodically replenished. The filtration system should be sized so that at least 50% of the original media remains after 6 or 12 months of operation. Systems with both top and bottom connections can make refilling easier.

Recommended Operating Conditions

A minimum filter bed depth of 1500 mm is recommended. The appropriate service flow rate depends on the CO₂ content of the water:
- Slow: 3 m/h
- Medium: 5 m/h
- High: 10 m/h
- Very high: 20 m/h
- Maximum: 30 m/h
- Minimum backwash flow: 25 m/h under normal conditions
- Minimum expansion freeboard: 25%

Required Water Quality

For correct operation, the incoming water should meet the following requirements:
- Maximum iron concentration at 10 m/h: 3–4 ppm, with previous aeration
- Maximum manganese concentration: 0.05 ppm
- Oil: Absent

Juraperle is suitable for water treatment applications where acidic water requires pH correction using a naturally based calcium carbonate filter medium. Its granular structure allows it to function both as a neutralising medium and as part of the filtration process.
